The confirmation youth from Holy Trinity ended 2017 learning about the many ways that we are called to help others. They held a bake sale benefiting their church building fund. A few of them worked with Servolution revitalizing homes and serving first responders. Meagan Anderson headed up a coat drive that collected several bags of coats that she delivered to the Community Caring Center in Azle right before our recent cold snap. They made cards for the children of Cook Children’s Medical Center. Teri Fugate, a parishioner and nurse, delivered them to the clinic where the cards were displayed and children were allowed to select one to keep as they came through. They worked Garden on Go which provides fresh fruits and vegetable once a month to the community at an affordable cost and in honor of our dear friend Rita Cooper filled bags for the homeless for her daughter, Denise Clemons, to distribute to the homeless in keeping with the work her mother started. The men and women of the church came in to speak to them about the work that they do not just within the church but beyond the church walls. Thank you to all of our adult volunteers who set such a wonderful example of the Corporal Works of Mercy for our young people.
